The mission statement for going back to the past, addressing the trauma

I am going to step into the past. This past is not in my present life. What happened back then can never happen again and is not happening now in the present moment. I am only visiting the past to work on the wounds that I got during abusive behavior towards me at that time. I am not going to stay there longer than needed to find the wounds, heal them, embrace them with love, and nurture them so that the emotions can start to evolve to the state of my current age and maturity.

It will not be easy, but with the help of my Higher Power, I can do it.

I will feel pain like it is happening today, but in reality, it belongs to the past. The pain is the roadmap to the wounds; the pain is what I need to work on to make my life better in the present. The purpose is to let the pain out that is buried inside of me and is affecting my well-being today. I need to let it out so I can gain freedom from it. If there is pain associated with memory, then I need to work on it until the pain has gone. It will be okay.

I do not need to finish everything completely in this session. I will do my best each time. I can always repeat this process, dig deeper next time, and continue the healing process, one step at a time.

My Higher Power, give me the strength to dig into the past and find the wounds so I can be free from the consequences of all the trauma that occurred in my life.
